Eddie Vedder is a tool

I originally wrote out a huge blog about how much the title of this blog is true, but i didnt even feel like dignifying him that much. If you listen to the song "Here's to the Land" off the Deluxe version of Into the Wild you'll know what i'm talking about. The song sucks first of all, and then on top of that the whole time he's singing about how much of a tool he is. Thanks. Thats all i have, i'll think of something else to say later.

Easter

I love Easter. Every year it keeps getting better. Most holidays do. I'd like to say that this year's Good Friday Service and Easter services were fantastic. Its funny how much we dont really think about Easter until the hour long service or something like that, and Good Friday is even more pushed aside. Its too bad really, because its such a big deal. Andy's message today struck me because he mentioned that the disciples and first believers did not follow Christ because of his teachings. Today in pop-culture Christianity everyone wants to talk about Christ's teachings because of how revolutionary they were. And yes, they were quite revolutionary. And yes, they are extremely important for a Christian to know how God expects them to live life. But despite hearing Jesus teach for 3 years, despite living life with him and listening to every word he said, when he died, they all abandoned him and did not think that he was really who he said he was. They did not expect the Resurrection. And just the same, all through Acts its not the teachings of Jesus that are being preached to the huge crowds, and its not his teachings that get them in trouble, and its not his teachings that end up getting most of the apostles killed, its the witness of the Resurrection. How odd that 2000 years ago men were dying for their belief in the Resurrection and today we hardly notice it.

I also started thinking about the people that go to church just on Christmas and Easter and I thought that was so funny. I mean, not that its bad or anything, but that people that dont really consider themselves church-going Christians would choose those two holidays to go to church. What i mean by this is, there are some aspects of Christianity that are easier to come to grips with, such as a loving God or a community of people loving each other, or worshipping God. This is what goes on every normal sunday. And then there are parts of Christianity that are just downright outrageous. The two most prominent being the virgin birth and of course the resurrection. Its just so ironic to me that people show up for the holidays celebrating these two outrageous events, but dont come for the easier to come to grips with stuff. I was just trying to think of what these people really thought when they heard about the Resurrection. I dunno, just something ironic to me, in the end its actually great that people do come for those holidays because both of them are so crucial to Christianity.

spring break was overall pretty low key and boring, and i liked it that way. I'm 21 now. So who knows what kind of shenanigans i'll be getting into. Peace.

home is where my parents live or why Johnny Knoxville is an american hero

i'm home. right now i'm sitting in my bed after just eating an Ippolito's calzone. for all my Atl readers you should know what that means, for all my Liberty readers you have no idea the goodness that is ippolitos, probably because you've never heard of it. but really you should have eaten it by now so i dont pity you...pretend you are a tribesman in the middle of some third world country and you've never heard of Jesus, if you die, will you go to hell? see, in the same way, since you don't know about ippolito's you really arent sure about your eternal security anymore.

that really makes no sense.

tonight as i ate my Ippolito's calzone and watched tv i was reminded of someone whom i would love to meet. the Jackass himself, Johnny Knoxville. i think if i actually ever met him i would look something like this:

i would keep that face until spoken to, then i would answer in one word to whatever he asked, then i would resume making that face. i would repeat this process however many times is necessary until he understands how moved i am to be by him. i really have more respect for that man than he deserves. he doesnt really do anything. he's just the complete man. in the movie Jackass 2 he proved to me that he is the ideal man, i think that Adam from the Bible probably was alot like him.

i have a theory (and this is the serious, concerned part of this blog) that the government should stop storing information and other stuff in computers. because no matter how advanced the computers get, James Bond villains will always find a way to hack into them, seriously, all you need is a nerdy guy who can type really fast to sit down at the computer for awhile and just go nuts. he doesnt even have to be typing anything important. just give him that black screen with the green writing and let him go to town and you'll be able to see that the government was responsible for 9/11 in 1 minute tops. its even better if he tells you it takes an hour to crack the program and you tell him, "you've got 1 minute or i'm going to crack you." i promise you he'll figure it out in 58 seconds. anyways, they should stop storing it in these computers and start telling Johnny Knoxville everything they know. every secret, every bit of information. can anyone argue with this? i mean really, imagine watching an hour long episode of 24 with Jack Bauer trying to torture Johnny Knoxville. it would be as futile as a tug of war match between Hulk Hogan and Rosie O'Donnell. all that to say:

its good to be home.

The night before spring break

Well Blogdom, its the night before spring break. Which means its one day till I go home and do absolutely no work for a full week at home rather than be at college and sit and do absolutely no work for the whole semester. Its not really that spring break is a time which you dont have to do work anymore, its just the only time in spring where you won't be penalized for doing nothing. See that? I used italics. That signifies more of an emphasis on something. What if i just went crazy and started using italics on all sorts of random words. That would be spring break worthy.

right now i'm faced with the insurmountable task of packing. i'm staring at my room right now, seeing bits of carpet here and there, but mostly just a bunch of clothes. i have old fast food bags and napkins from who knows how long (i dont think there's any food left, so its not that bad...) my room smells strangely of shower gel mixed with old, used towels, which is not the most pleasant smell. well, at first its quite pleasant (thanks to the wonderful people at Olde Spice...c'mon sponsors...), then the towel smell creeps in and you feel claustrophobic. life is kinda like this sometimes, you know you have to get your life straightened up, but you really dont know where to start. its a hopeless feeling where you end up deciding its best to not try at all and hope maybe your roommate comes in and just does your laundry. see, thats called an illustration. it is a story meant to help convey a point. but seriously, alot of times we feel like one day we're going to grow up all the sudden. like one day we will wake up and say, "i'm finally an adult!" but really we dont grow up till we start acting like it, the rest follows. its all about discipline, no not that kind, and definitely not the other kind you're thinking of...the good kind. the kind where you stop going to the texas inn and 3 in the morning and instead decide to go to bed a bit earlier, the kind where you decide to start exercising and start ordering salads at resturaunts, the kind of discipline where you start wearing tube socks half-way up your calf with velcroe shoes and pleated khaki shorts that are higher off the knee than any Christian schoolgirl would ever dare to wear...oh, that might just be growing old...same thing really.

Like a virgin...blogging for the very first time...

Ok so its not my first time blogging...but its all about first times with each individual blogsite right? So the first time should be special...thats why i'm going to choose to talk about the glorious hat that I am wearing in my profile picture...it is called Showtime. I really miss that hat. if anyone has seen it please return it to me now. a couple starting off rules before i get into this. i use ellipses far more than any human being ever should...for those of you who dont know what that is and just refer to it as the "dot dot dot," well, thats what it is...but its so much more than that...i know thats only one rule, but i make up how this stuff goes.

well, in the spirit of my "first time" analogy i think i'm going to end a bit prematurely. i'll probably be blogging just fine and then just stop in the middle of a senten...

so good.
